Dyslexia Screening Test-Secondary

DST–S
For educators and clinicians who help children ages 11:6-16:5 who struggle to read, the DST-S includes more complex reading-related measures that inform instruction including nonverbal reasoning (generally considered a relative strength in learners with dyslexia) and spoonerisms.
Coming soon! The DST-2 will be published in late 2024, combining the DST-S, DST-J, DEST-2, and DAST.

Product Details

DST-S replaces the best selling DST and reflects changes in theory and practice with additional subtests, validation studies, and case histories.

Benefits

  • Use new subtests available in DST-S.
  • Identify signs of dyslexia in children.
  • Compare performance with other children.

Features

DST-S provides ability to assess many different skills. New subtests include:

  • Spoonerisms: more sensitive measure of phonological ability for those children able to cope with the segmentation test. It has a higher level of complexity and memory load.
  • Non-verbal Reasoning: it is generally considered that dyslexic children and adults are likely to have relative strengths in reasoning ability.
